Must be quite a challenging day today for all superstitious folk out there – Friday 13th coinciding with a full moon!

With the full moon colliding with this year’s one and only Fri 13th, today would appear to be an extra-spooky day for some. So in an attempt to ease a bit of that tension off your minds, here’s my short take on it using some of the brilliant moon-related idioms in this beautiful language.

So, you might not be over the moon about having such an unnerving combination in one day, but do not despair – apparently, full moon falling on Friday 13th is something that only happens once in a blue moon: last time it happened was on Oct 13th 2000, and according to sources on the internet, full moon on Friday the 13th won’t happen again until 2049. So there you go – just a few more hours and you’re off the hook, returning to another blissful Fri 13th & full moon-free period of a whole 35 years!

And for all the unabashed optimists out there (myself included) who find Fri 13th to be more about good luck than anything else – don’t be afraid to shoot for the moon today. Go out on a limb and pursue your dream. Remember, the next full moon & Fri 13th lucky combo is not until another 35 years so you might as well make the best of it now.

But regardless of whether you’re the first, second type or someone who doesn’t really find today different than any other day, here’s my one-size-fits-all suggestion – if possible, spend the day with people you love to the moon and back. I won’t promise you the moon, but I promise you will have the best day ever! 🙂
